Board of Directors
The Fairfield Glade Fire Department (FGFD) is governed by a Board of Directors recruited from recognized leaders of the Community of Fairfield Glade. The Board members willingly donate their time, talents, expertise, insights, and financial support. The Board is comprised of a total of nine Directors (seven Community At Large Directors, one Fairfield Glade Community Club Representative Director and one Fire Department Membership Representative Director). The Director term of office is generally three years. Annually the Board of Directors elects the Board/Corporate Officers, President, Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer. The Board of Directors are committed to making decisions in the best interest of the Community of Fairfield Glade and the success of the Fairfield Glade Fire Department by establishing strategic direction, financial accountability and operational policies based upon:

Proven firefighting best practices from benchmark fire departments,

Tennessee State Fire Marshall Standards/Regulations,

Insurance Services Office (ISO) Fire Department Public Protection Class Rating Standards,
-
National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA) Standards,
-
Reduction of Fairfield Glade Community Risk Issues (NFPA 1300 standard), and
-
Available Department funding.
As a Team, the Board of Directors work collaboratively with the Fire Chief and the FGFD Membership to ensure the Fairfield Glade Fire Department:

Is committed to be the Fairfield Glade Community’s first and best choice for emergency and non-emergency calls for service.

Maintains a Spirit of Continuous Improvement within the organization that strives to obtain Firefighting Excellence.

Is operated in an efficient, cost-effective way, that is fiscally accountable for the Community’s and County’s donations.

Implements and maintains, at all Department Operation Levels, the Board of Director’s fiduciary/fiscal accountability, strategic direction, and internal/regulatory compliance policies.

Responds timely 24/7 to emergency and non-emergency calls for service with trained and appropriately equipped firefighters.
The Board of Directors welcomes the Community to its open public meetings on the third Monday of each month, 1 pm, at the Fairfield Glade Library Building 455 Lakeview Drive, Fairfield Glade.
